- Ghironda [Montreal/Chicago, November -0001]

Daniel Thonon, a very fun and caustic Belgian musician/instrument builder who lives in Montreal, kindly invited me to stay with him to learn how to build a hurdy-gurdy ("ghironda" in Italian).
He asked me if I had a design in mind and helped me build the initial shape of the box. I slowly finished the rest when I came back to Chicago, drawing inspiration from historical models of hurdy-gurdies from gothic sculptures and early reinassance paintings.
