- Tyra The Race-Relations Intellectual
-
I noticed the kids watching TV with great interest, the other night. As I got closer, I noticed they were watching Tyra Banks' talk show. It was about inter-racial couples. In other interviews she gave on TV, I noticed Tyra always talks about how her "ethnic" model friends feel they are being discriminated, etc. I find the matter a little ridiculous, coming from a woman who has benefitted greatly from her looks. All you have to do is watch the walkways of fashion shows the world over: There are plenty of models who are cashing on their exotic looks to prove the opposite.
I think Tyra Banks needs to stick to what she does best: looking good!

The nun kicking the ball in AlexanderPlatz so amused the Italians, they stopped and played with her. They completely forgot they had a final to play, so the referee called Australia back to play the final against Ukraine. They won and ended up against Argentina. Argentina? Yes, because the Germans, playing the game against Argentina, got upset at Argentinian fans shouting some... some chant they could not understand ("Adios nonino"? yes, nonino Piazzolla, from Stuttgart). They started kicking all the balls the little McDonald's children would pass to them into the audience. The referee got mad: Germany disqualified. What about the English? Didn't you hear? That was a game to watch. With Portugal? Ooh-wee! It so happens that all players, Portuguese and English, decided to bring their wives to watch their game. Yes, there was a great gala at the Brandeburg Gate afterwards. So, the whole stadium watched not the game, but these awesome creatures of God, sitting there like princesses. And before you know it, there they are, smiling and laughing, kissed by the sun, passing each other a cloth-ball, playing a mock handball game. The Portuguese wives won, and the Franz (Beckenbauer) liked that and declared the fait-accompli. Brasil-France was the only game that was played normally, because, in that realm (soccer that is) both Brasil and France are so boring and predictable I couldn't foresee any other ending! Oh, and the final? 2006 was a year to remember: There was no final! The stadium was empty! The beautiful Africans (those Africans... from Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and then from all other countries), at first sad they had lost, had an idea: They stopped people going into the stadium, but also all the other people, yes, even the nun who distracted the Italians. They called up everyone on the street and organized a big barbecue with lots of music, beautiful African music, in a big open space outside Berlin. That was the end of the 2006 World Cup. Oh, the finalists? Nobody remembers...

I thought it was funny: Thousands of people have rallied around the country against a new law which would make fellons of people who hire illegal workers. Until here, OK. They are protesting against a law which would put their source of income in jeopardy. (By the way, let's say it: Americans have long given up those jobs that now immigrant workers take on for below minimum wage pay, or have passed them onto their teenage children.) What I thought was hypocritical was that at these rallies, all the demonstrators were waving flags from all countries around the world, except that of the country they are working in, especially since one of the proposals is to give them amnesty and allow them to become citizens. Soon after comments by Republicans to that regard, at the next demonstrations, everyone was waving American flags... Make up your minds. Honestly, I am tired of seeing any flags. If you are parading for human rights, bring a slogan, or simply parade, sing, do whatever. I am tired of seeing flags all over the place. It makes me nervous! A flag is a cloth representing a country in a place where membership to that country is important. Not something to be mixed up with hamburgers, fancy cars on tv, or as you walk down the street as you would fly a kite in the air.
