- Eternal Embrace
-
A pair of human skeletons lie in an eternal embrace at an Neolithic archaeological dig site near Mantova, Italy, in this photo released February 6, 2007. Archaeologists in northern Italy believe the couple was buried 5,000-6,000 years ago, their arms still wrapped around each other in a hug that has lasted millennia.

Listening to a radio program brought back memories of my "playing days". The program was dedicated to the Austrian composer Fritz Kreisler.
Antonio, my Italian accomplice in musical escapades, used to play Kreisler music during the brief time we played together for hire.

-
Paulo just came to stay with us for a few days.
I met Paulo in 91, when I went to Brasil a second time. Someone had invited me and Fatima to go to his house.
At the time I didn't know this, but that gathering was to wish him farewell as he travelled to New York to accompany a painting from the Museum of Art of Sao Paulo for an exposition.
Paulo is a solar figure: He is always laughing, discovering, sharing his experiences, and he is basically like a distant brother to me and an uncle to the kids, whom he loves dearly.
